BoMF Program Results
Updated: January 30, 2012At Back on My Feet, we know the importance of tracking the effectiveness of our program and take careful measurements of our metrics. Being a part of BoMF means a commitment to excellence, not just as a member, but as staff we seek to always be learning, assessing and bringing together best practices. We strive to better understand both our members’ experiences and the effectiveness of our programmatic responses to those needs. Through exciting partnerships with Temple and Griffith Universities as well as the Massachusetts General Hospital, we seek to bring in outside organizations to help evaluate and verify our efforts. In addition to the tangible progress around self-sufficiency regarding employment and moving back into independence, we conduct monthly attitudinal surveys.
These evaluation surveys enable Back on My Feet to track important changes in our members’ behavior. Having this information is crucial to our ability to alter our program to best serve the needs of our members and create the most positive environment possible for constructive change in our members’ lives. Being able to understand the importance and efficacy of positive socialization and relating it to relevant and appropriate goal setting on moving one’s life forward is vital.
One important metric is that at any time, no less than 75% of any chapter’s members should be enrolled in our Next Steps program. Becoming eligible for Next Steps requires at least 90% attendance on morning runs, a positive attitude and at least 30 days in our program. Next Steps is where our Program Staff works in close collaboration with our members and appropriate facility/shelter contacts to develop realistic and accountable goal plans with our members. Running is where our program starts, professional and personal self-sufficiency through Next Steps is where it leads.
Our process doesn’t end there. We conduct bi-annual evaluations from our facility partners and our volunteers. Their feedback is critical in establishing effective communities of support.
Below are some of the statistics we are excited to share with you. Statistics are updated as of December 2011.
