Back on My Feet is a unique organization that strives to challenge society’s perception of homelessness. Volunteer is a word that is widely used in the nonprofit world, but we don’t use that word at BOMF – here, we are all members and we all follow the same guidelines regardless of race, education, socio-economic status or any other labels.

We are proud to have more than 400 members, all of whom possess a plethora of innate skills and talents. Our early morning runs are a cauldron of energy and positivity that form our warm, supportive and loving Back on My Feet community.

We are always looking for fun, enthusiastic and committed people to join our team. Our members are at all different levels – beginner, intermediate and advanced as we run at all different paces and different distances. We will place you on a team that is at your fitness level.

We currently have five BOMF teams that meet every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and four of the teams also run on Saturdays. The following are the locations, times and current distances as of September 20th, 2008.

Ready, Willing and Able Team - Corner of Broad and Bainbridge Sts. map 5:40 am 3-5 miles runs
Mercy Hospice - Corner of 13th and Pine. map 6 am 1-2 mile runs

An integral part of the BOMF program is the introduction of longer runs on Saturday mornings for teams that are reaching training milestones. These runs can vary in time of departure, distance of run and start location. Please contact Andrew Marr, 610-306-5439 for more specific Saturday morning run information.

All new members are required to attend a 45 - minute orientation prior to taking part in a morning run. Orientations are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. The next orientations will take place on Wednesday, October 15th at 8 pm at City Fitness Gym and then on Wednesday, October 29th at 8 am at 1617 JFK BLVD, Suite 1700 and then on If you have any further questions please contact BOMF's Director of Outreach and Member Services, Andrew Marr - 610-306-5439
